My School Play

Hi peeps.

It's about my school play. We staged this play at the end of the school term last year. The young children were awesome, especially the main role. Jon, our Chu Kang, was so charming and courageous. I do not want to lose this play. Hence, I'm sharing it with you here.

Let's enjoy our very own version of PCK, The best in Baling, Kupang and some say Kuala Pegang. A big thank to Miss Ong for the recording and publishing of the play.

My Cloud Classroom: Writing in the Cloud 2 (WITC2)

Sharing with you my Cloud Classroom operated from home on Tuesday morning (I was on sick leave). It worked. It worked out well. In fact, it is much better than what was thought. Thanks to Ms Fun, my lovely buddy for chaperoning my posse. The young learners are my 22 Year 6 pupils who will be sitting for their UPSR in less than a month. They are witty and charming.

You will see how the young learners scrambled for the groups of their choice; deciding on the group members whom they wanted to work with. Everything took place in the Cloud. The videos showed chronologically will tell the whole story. For this posting, I'm sharing Part 2/6.

Farewell My Kids

Hi peep.

It's almost half a year since I last updated Sophyta's Casita. I'll try to make it a daily routine for the rest of the holidays, and I'd like to call it The 37- Day Holiday Challenge. I'm obliged to write a blog entry a day.

As for the Day 1/37, I would like to share with you my sweet readers about my students. This batch of students is our education system latest lab rats. They were tested with the new revised curriculum, KSSR and the outcome was a big frustration. Nonetheless, I wouldn't use this platform to rant about the system. My 'kids' are the focal point of this blog entry.

These kids of mine are adorable, witty and at times mischievous, too. I've been entrusted with the task of moulding them since they were in Year 2 (8 years old), and yesterday was their last day with me. Tears flowing down our cheeks like wine when we bade each other goodbye. One thing for certain, two things for sure - I'm going to miss them. I'm going to miss my kids.

Prizes Redemption 1/2016

Hi peeps.

It's been years since I last updated my beloved Sophyta's Casita. This post is about the little Stamp Book and prize redemption. My students have been waiting for half a year before they could have a go at their much awaited prizes for 'being good'!

Eventually the good day arrived. On June 28, I let my Year Six and Year Four pupils redeemed their little prizes. Their cute little faces light up and their tiny eyes gleamed with happiness. Other students who have not met the target were full of jealousy. 

I hope these ' carrots' would spur them to do better in future. I pray for their constant interest in English lessons.

How Can I Guide My Children?

On April 6, 2016, I invited all the Year 6 parents to school.

They were exposed to the UPSR English Paper and how they can help their child. Many turned up. It was well received. The parents were attentive. Most of them were all ears. They were keen and highly interested. It can be concluded as a successful programme.
