It's our country 57th Independence Day. A little history lesson here ...
Malaysia or Malaya, as it was known then, gained its independence from the British on August 31, 1957.
It's a public holiday for everyone here today. My son is home, too.
The Merdeka Day, as it's fondly called here, is indeed a Family Day.
It's a great day to revive and to rejuvenate.
Selamat Hari Merdeka, Malaysia!
