Family in need is family indeed...

Good day beautiful people.

Do you have family?  I'm sure you do. What a question to ask. Do you come from a big family? Do you have many uncles and aunties? If you do, I'm sure you have many cousins too.

Family is a very unique unit. Each unit functions differently. Some are a close knit ones. Every member knows each other. The members love each other. Ones is considered fortunate to have loving and caring extended family members.

No doubt, some rarely meet. They seldom talk to each other. They live far away from each other. In short, they are quite separated and these are distant family members.

From my observation, extended family could turn out to be your immediate family if your hand is needed. On the contrary, extended family would be distant family if you are in need.

Most of them would distant themselves from you once their chores are taken care of. They hardly drop by. They scarcely ask about your elderly ailing parents, i.e. their very own uncles and aunts who worked their fingers to the bone during their parents' (cousins') last rite. These are uncle and aunt who readily offer them a shoulder to cry on.

In a nutshell, love and respect thy parents. No one else love and care  for you like them. Love your siblings. They are your right-handers. Please bear in mind, extended family in need is family indeed.
