It's My Big 4-0

I turned the big 4-0 a couple of minutes ago.

Yeah! Well it’s my birthday today. It’s extremely hard to believe I’m forty.

Like a lot of people that hit this particular time in their lives, I spent a few moments reflecting on my “first half” this week and in doing so was reminded that I’ve been truly blessed thus far in my life. That’s not to say I haven’t made mistakes and would do some things differently if given the chance, but I’m really grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and the experiences that I’ve been able to take part in. Below are just a few of the things that I feel really blessed that are or have been a part of my life.
I Have Wonderful Parents
My beloved Pho and Mae have always loved me unconditionally. They have always believed in me and encouraged all of my interests and the best of all, they always made time for me. Whenever I needed helping hands, they readily stepped up to the plate. They love my husband and he loves them! They adore my children and make them a priority.
I Have an Awesome Family
I married my ‘love at first sight’ 18 years ago and we’re more in love today than we were back then. There are so many ways that we compliment each other that it’s uncanny. I get fired up about something and he calmly looks at alternatives and consequences. We have 2 great children – a boy and girl who will be 16 and 12 respectively,  who make me proud as they grown, learn and experience new things on a weekly basis.
I’m a Teacher
I’m extremely proud to have served our great nation as part of the Malaysian educators. The people I served with and the experiences I have during my teaching stints help shape me into who I am today. The teaching experiences are challenging, yet rewarding. It also gives me the opportunity to grow up from being a timid and soft-spoken girl to a person that my young charges know they could rely on.
In short, I feel like I’ve had a great life. I’m excited to see what the 'years to come' is going to bring. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for taking the time to allow me to share.
