I'm Loving You - FROG VLE ...

Good day beautiful readers.

It's raining now. The shower has just begun. The fresh cool wind and the sound of rain make writing again.
I've spent the past entire week exploring Frog VLE, my new learning and teaching environment. The whole experience is satisfying. There's only one word to describe the training - SATISFIED!

The trainers did their job very well. Each issue was tackled with much professionalism. Hitches and glitches were smoothed over in a short period. The training team, along with the coordinator, gets a huge kudos from me for that.

The training ended yesterday. Nonetheless, the learning process didn't stop there. I resume the self-training the whole of today. My passion for the Frog has seen me plunging into the Frog Pond and surfacing with a renewed vigor. Through umpteens trials and errors, I perfected my sites and the dashboard. To date, five sites are up and running. I'll come back with more feedbacks and comments once my students lay their hand on those sites. You have my word!

My Girls ...

Good day beautiful readers.

As mentioned in the yesterday's post, today's entry is about my two cute girls. Don't get me wrong. They're not my daughters, but they're like one. Sheril and Phebe, the two adorable girls are my students. They're 12 and 11. Both love English, the subject dreaded by many others. Since they love the subject, they adore me too, the subject teacher.

Both represented my little school in the storytelling and public speaking competition respectively. Both won the competition. Sheril emerged second while Phebe got third. In actuality, they defeated 80 other students in the district. No doubt, they make their teacher proud. Though they're the product of a vernacular school, they stand stall in the knowledge that they did their best.

I'm proud of you, girls.

The Annual Carnival ...

Good day beautiful readers.

It's over!
Phew!
What a relief.

The annual co-academic activities is over, so to speak.   The action song competition, the public speaking competition and the storytelling competition had been carried out yesterday.

It was indeed a hectic day for me. Having to coordinate and 'run' the show all alone wasn't a piece of cake. Great effort has been made to run the show.  The preparation began many months ago. Every issue cropped up needs to be taken seriously.

It's a success. I can proudly say that the carnival was successful. Despite minor glitches at the start of the event, everything else ran smoothly. Every event was completed according to the schedule. Hope it'll be a  better one next year.

***Look out for the post about the cute girls in the pictures tomorrow.

My Cloud Storage ...

Good day peeps.

It's over! Yes, even though some of us are still using the USBs, the floppy disks and CDs are almost obsolete. Thanks to the advent of cloud computing technology. We have a choice to make. It's either the Dropbox or the Google Drive.

I ditched the floppy disks almost a decade ago due to its sloppiness. I shunned the CDs as they are prone to scratches and glitches. I stopped using the USBs due to high virus infection. My whole life of work stored in two USBs vanished in the twinkling of an eye when they were formatted. They were badly infected and refused to open. The pain incurred was unbearable.

When I was introduced to Dropbox late last year, I didn't fall in love with it straight away. I began to like it when the Internet connection at my workplace improved. It's quite generous in term of storage capacity. The 2GB is adequate if you don't save your whole life in there. It's even friendlier if you own a Google account.

Nonetheless, my 2GB capacity is running low. I was rummaging for a bigger storage when I stumbled upon Google Drive. Mr Google is far more generous than Mr Dropbox in term of storage capacity. Google Drive offers a free 5GB storage capacity. However, saving and transferring folders with loads of files in them is not a piece of cake. It takes ages compared to Dropbox.

Despite the glitches and minor obstacles, I love them both!
