Sound Saturday ...

Good day peeps.

Waking up to a fresh Saturday morning.

When the window is pushed open, cool breeze rushes in, brushing my face.
Everything; the chair, table and even the thick drapery in the living room, is cold to the touch.
All in all, I have only the rain to thank for. The occasional shower has cooled the world.

In fact, very few places in this country are bestowed with such a wonderful weather.
We're among the blessed few to make this place our home.

Have a blessed day!

Technology getting in the way of education...

Can technology benefits our students?
Yes, it can.

Can technology positively impact schools?
It depends.

Can technology be a powerful tool for teachers to use?
At times.

Can the positive impacts of technology, if there is any, accelerate the educational progress of children positively?
It depends

But, one thing for sure, in our case, the fund, time and effort channeled to make the technology work went down the drain. All in all, it's due to the inexpertly managed system!

I have always believed that technology can have a positive impact on students if used properly.
I have seen how motivated students are when they come up to the computer lab to work on their projects. There are hardly any discipline problems and all of the children are engaged and focused on their work.

If only our teachers had more computers available to them in their classrooms, what an impact that would have on the students learning. I truly think that teachers need more technology resources and aids to help them use technology the way it is meant to be used with their students.

Pathetically, teachers over here are constantly hastened to use the computer only for word processing and keying in futile students' information.

In truth, technology should be used as an educational tool to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity. Technology is not solely meant for storing purposes.

When the floor and wall freeze ...

Hi great people.

It's another post on a freezing cold evening.

It isn't snowing over here, but the floor is crackling cold.

There is neither the slightest chance of blizzard but the chilling wind is gusting.

The fans aren't moving. They have gotten the much needed rest.

Outside, the thick fog has descended upon the neighbourhood.

A thick warm blanket and a cup of steaming hot coffee would be great.

The Garden ...

Hi peeps.

Today is a great day. The weather is wonderful. A wonderful weather to me is not a day with clear blue sky. An amazing weather to me is a cloudy day with souffle of clouds looming over my little but serene workplace.

The colourful 'noon glories' are in full bloom.

In truth, I've no idea what's the name of this little-bud flower. 'The name 'Noon glory' is bestowed upon them as they bloom at midday!

The adorable little garden which snuggles cosily at one of the nooks and cranny in my school is the brainchild of one strong lady, our most respected Senior Assistant (Student Affair).

Here's the lady with numerous talents. She's a very good Maths teacher, has green fingers and a great cook, too! The best of all this lady has a heart of gold.

Views from the Peak ...

Hi peeps.

Yesterday was another public holiday; it's one of those many public holidays in this country.
All of us, for once, roamed the highlands and wooded hilly  areas scattered around our neighbourhood together.

The weather was wonderful. It's drizzling with occasional little sunlight. A souffle of cumulus nimbus loomed over the extensive field force camp.

It would be awesome if a cottage were to be erected at this very place. It would be a paradise on earth!

Abundant rainfall means that you can find lush greenery that remains throughout the year. The verdure had undoubtedly caught someone's interest.

Diary of a Tree (3)

Hi great people.

I'm back with something very dear to me...our trees. Apart from my love ones, these trees do occupy a special place in my heart.

So, dear friends, let's unwind with some 'nature talks'.

Hi, how are you dear readers?
It's me again...the same young bubbly tree.
I'm now about 27 months old.
As you can see, I'm quite big and tall now.

It looks brownish as the weeds in the plantation area had been sprayed with weed killer.

We're glad as there are no more annoying and irritating weeds and grass around us. At times, the weed killer did suffocate and intoxicate us though.

Despite it has gotten rusty, the gate stood strong and steady guarding us from any intruders.

To my dear readers,
Thank you for reading...and till we meet again...
Sawasdee Khah!

I'm loving it ...

Hi peeps.

It's raining today. It's showering.
In fact, it's been raining since the wee hours this morning. I love this weather.

I love it. I love rain so very much. I've never felt this good here even though I was born and bred at this very place. All in all, it was due to the unpleasant weather.

The weather here, just like elsewhere on this part of the globe, is always hot and humid. It makes you restless. It reduces your concentration. It angers you.

However, today's weather is simply the best. It calms me and my innermost. It makes me wanting to stay. I'm loving it! .
